Seeking Inspiration for a Popular Discord Bot Project

Hey everyone! I’m looking to create a Discord bot that’ll actually stick around and be useful to people. I’ve done some private projects before, but now I want to make something that others will enjoy using.

I’m kind of stuck on what to make though. What kind of bots do you think people would really want or need? I’m open to all sorts of ideas, whether it’s for moderation, fun, or utility.

If you’ve used any bots that you thought were great, or if you have any cool ideas for features, I’d love to hear about them. It would really help me get started on the right foot.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

From my experience managing a gaming community, one bot that’s been invaluable is a custom game stats tracker. It integrates with popular games like Apex Legends, Fortnite, or CS:GO to pull player stats directly into Discord. Users can check their own stats or compare with friends using simple commands. The bot also generates leaderboards and tracks improvement over time. What makes it stand out is the ability to create custom tournaments within the server, automatically updating scores and rankings. If you could expand on this concept, perhaps adding support for more games or implementing a way to organize regular community events based on player skill levels, it could be a hit. Many gaming communities would find this useful for fostering friendly competition and keeping members engaged.

As someone who’s been running a few Discord servers for a while now, I can tell you that one of the most useful bots I’ve come across is a multi-purpose scheduling and reminder bot. It’s been a game-changer for coordinating events and keeping everyone on track.

The bot allows users to set reminders for themselves or the whole server, schedule events with RSVP functionality, and even has a feature for creating polls to decide on meeting times. What sets it apart is its natural language processing - users can type something like “Remind me to water the plants tomorrow at 9am” and it just works.

Another killer feature is its timezone handling. With members across different time zones, it automatically converts event times for each user. This has seriously cut down on confusion and missed meetings.

If you could create something along these lines but maybe add integration with popular calendar apps, I think you’d have a winner on your hands. Just my two cents based on what’s worked well for our community.
