I’ve been checking out APITable’s self-hosted option and I’m pretty impressed with how it looks and works. I’m curious if any AirTable users have tried it out. What are your thoughts?
Also, I’m trying to get a custom price for more than 2 users, but I haven’t heard back from their team yet. Has anyone else managed to get in touch with them about this?
I’d really appreciate any insights or experiences you can share. Thanks in advance!
Edit: Just to clarify, I’m specifically interested in how APITable compares to AirTable in terms of features and usability for those who’ve used both. And if anyone has successfully negotiated a custom plan, I’d love to hear about that process too.
tried apitable self-hosted. pretty good but setup’s a bit tricky. feature-wise, its close to airtable but misses some advanced stuff. custom pricing was a pain - took ages to hear back. ended up going with their standard plan. overall, if you’re tech-savvy and want more control, it’s worth a shot. just be patient with their support.
As an AirTable user who recently switched to APITable’s self-hosted option, I can share some insights. The transition was smoother than expected, and I’ve found APITable to be quite robust. The self-hosting aspect gives me more control over my data, which was a big plus.
Feature-wise, APITable holds its own against AirTable. The interface is intuitive, and I particularly appreciate the built-in automations. However, I did notice that some of AirTable’s more advanced features are still in development for APITable.
Regarding custom pricing, I faced a similar issue initially. After some persistence, I managed to get in touch with their sales team through LinkedIn. They were quite accommodating once we connected, and we negotiated a plan that suited our team size and needs.
Overall, if data sovereignty is a priority and you’re willing to manage your own instance, APITable is definitely worth considering. Just be prepared for a bit of a learning curve during setup.
I’ve been using APITable’s self-hosted option for a few months now after switching from AirTable. The transition was relatively straightforward, though it did require some technical know-how for the initial setup. In terms of features, APITable is quite comparable to AirTable, with some areas where it excels and others where it’s still catching up.
One standout feature for me is the API-first approach, which has been incredibly useful for integrating with our other systems. The customization options are also more extensive than what I had with AirTable. However, I’ve found the ecosystem of third-party integrations to be somewhat limited compared to AirTable’s offerings.
Regarding pricing, I didn’t have much luck getting a custom quote either. It took several follow-ups before I received a response. When I did, the pricing was competitive, but the process was frustratingly slow. Despite this, the cost savings and control gained from self-hosting have made it worthwhile for our team.
