I’m in a bit of a pickle and hoping someone here can help me out. I’m trying to get my hands on an older version of Jira that you could install on your own server. Unfortunately, Atlassian doesn’t offer it for download anymore.
Has anyone kept an old installation package lying around? Or do you know where I might be able to find one? I’ve been searching high and low but no luck so far.
I’d really appreciate any leads or suggestions. Maybe there’s an archive somewhere I haven’t thought of? Or if you have experience with alternative solutions, I’m all ears.
I’ve been in a similar situation before, and it can be frustrating when software companies discontinue older versions. Have you considered reaching out to Atlassian’s support directly? Sometimes they keep archives of older versions for special cases. If that doesn’t work, you might want to look into open-source alternatives like Redmine or Trac. They’re self-hosted and offer similar functionality to Jira. Another option is to check software preservation projects or tech archives online - they sometimes have older versions of popular software. Just be careful about security if you do find an old Jira version, as it might have vulnerabilities. Good luck with your search!
I’ve dealt with this issue before, and it’s not easy to find older Jira versions. Have you looked into virtual machine images? Sometimes you can find pre-configured VMs with older software installations. Another option is to check tech forums or developer communities outside of official channels. Some organizations keep older versions for legacy systems. Just be cautious about licensing and security implications. If you absolutely can’t find the old version, consider exploring Jira Cloud or evaluating other project management tools that offer on-premise solutions. The landscape has changed a lot, and you might find a modern alternative that better suits your needs without the hassle of maintaining an outdated system.
