Hey everyone! We’re trying to move our old MS Access stuff online. We love Wordpress and want to keep everything on our current site. Airtable’s simple spreadsheet setup looks awesome, and we’re hoping to find something like that for Wordpress.
We’ve looked around but can’t seem to find the right plugin. Someone mentioned WP Data Access before, which is cool, but not quite what we’re after. We really want that Airtable vibe, you know?
Anyone else looking for something similar? Or maybe you’ve found a great solution? We’d love to hear your thoughts! Thanks for any help you can give!
have u tried wpforms? it’s not exactly like airtable but it can do spreadsheet-style forms on wp. you can make custom fields and export data. might work for ur needs. or maybe check out ninja tables plugin? heard good things bout that one too. good luck finding what works for ya!
I’ve been in a similar situation, and after some trial and error, I found JetEngine to be a solid option. It’s not an exact Airtable clone, but it offers robust database functionality within WordPress. You can create custom post types, taxonomies, and even set up relationships between them. The grid view isn’t as slick as Airtable’s, but with some CSS tweaks, you can get it pretty close. Plus, it integrates well with Elementor if you’re using that for your site design. It might have a bit of a learning curve, but once you get the hang of it, it’s quite powerful for managing complex data structures directly in WordPress.
I’ve been using Pods Framework for a similar project, and it’s been a game-changer. While it’s not a carbon copy of Airtable, it offers incredible flexibility for creating custom content types and fields within WordPress. The learning curve is a bit steep, but once you get the hang of it, you can build pretty much any data structure you need.
One of the best features is its ability to create relationships between different content types, which was crucial for our database migration. We’ve managed to recreate most of our old Access database structure using Pods, and it integrates seamlessly with the rest of our WordPress site.
For displaying data, we combine Pods with a table plugin like TablePress. It’s not as fancy as Airtable’s grid view, but it gets the job done and keeps everything within WordPress. Plus, the Pods community is quite active, so you can usually find help if you get stuck. Might be worth checking out for your project.
