Hey Shopify community!
I’m planning to get my store built and I’m kinda shocked by the price ranges. Some quotes are as low as 5k euros, while others go up to 15k euros. It’s making my head spin!
Has anyone here worked with agencies or designers for their store? I’d really appreciate if you could share:
- How much you paid
- Whether you got a custom theme or tweaked a premium one
- How your store’s doing (speed, sales, etc.)
- If you feel the price was fair, looking back
Any info would be super helpful. I’m trying to figure out if these high prices are actually worth it or if I’m better off going with a cheaper option. Thanks a bunch!
I’ve been down this road before, and let me tell you, it’s a minefield. We went with an agency for our store, shelling out around 12k euros. They built us a fully custom theme from scratch, which looked great but had some initial hiccups.
Performance-wise, it’s been a mixed bag. The site looks slick and loads fast, but we’ve had to tweak things post-launch. Sales have been good, though it’s hard to attribute that solely to the design.
Honestly, looking back, I’m not sure if the high price was entirely justified. We could’ve probably achieved similar results for less. My advice? Don’t get dazzled by fancy portfolios. Focus on functionality and ROI. And always, always get everything in writing before you start.
Remember, a pretty store doesn’t guarantee sales. It’s about finding that sweet spot between design and practicality.
I’ve been through the Shopify store design process, and I can relate to your confusion about pricing. In my experience, I worked with a freelancer who charged around 8,000 euros for a custom theme. This included responsive design, custom product pages, and integration with some third-party apps.
The store’s performance has been solid - load times are quick, and we’ve seen a steady increase in sales since launch. Looking back, I feel the price was fair for the quality and customization we received. However, it’s crucial to thoroughly vet any designer or agency before committing. Ask for portfolios, client references, and ensure they have experience with Shopify specifically.
Remember, the cheapest option isn’t always the best value. Consider your long-term goals and choose a solution that can grow with your business. Good luck with your store!
i worked with a freelancer for my store. paid about 6k euros for a customized premium theme. store’s doing ok, but coulda probably got similar results cheaper. speed’s good, sales are steady. in hindsight, maybe overpaid a bit. make sure to get detailed quotes and compare options before committing
