Should I warm up my dedicated IP when using HubSpot for occasional business notifications?

I need some advice about HubSpot’s transactional email setup. My company wants to send important notifications like policy updates and system maintenance alerts. These emails need to reach all customers regardless of their marketing preferences since they’re required for legal compliance.

We already use SendGrid for regular transactional stuff like password resets and order confirmations. But I want to keep these special announcements in HubSpot using their transactional email addon.

The problem is HubSpot requires a dedicated IP for this service. From everything I know about email deliverability, dedicated IPs need proper warming before they work well. But HubSpot support keeps telling me warming isn’t needed for their transactional service. They won’t explain why though.

Since we only send these notifications maybe once every few months, I’m worried about two things. First, can we actually start sending right away after purchasing the addon? Second, if the IP sits unused for months between sends, won’t it lose its reputation and need warming again?

The monthly cost is pretty steep so I want to understand this completely before committing. Has anyone dealt with HubSpot’s transactional emails for similar use cases? What was your experience with IP warming requirements?

I had similar concerns when we implemented HubSpot’s transactional service last year. What HubSpot doesn’t clearly explain is that their dedicated IPs for transactional emails come pre-warmed through their shared infrastructure. They maintain reputation scores across their IP pools, so you’re not starting from zero reputation like you would with a completely fresh dedicated IP from other providers. We’ve been sending quarterly compliance notifications through their system for over a year now with consistent delivery rates above 98%. The gaps between sends haven’t affected our deliverability, which was my biggest worry initially. However, monitor your first few sends closely through their analytics dashboard to verify everything is working as expected. The cost is high but the reliability has been worth it for our compliance requirements.

honestly hubspot’s support is probly right about this one. transactional emails work diferently than bulk marketing sends - they dont need the same warming process because your sending legit business notifications not promotional stuff. ive used their transactional addon and it worked fine from day one without any warming.
