I need some advice about HubSpot’s transactional email setup. My company wants to send important notifications like policy updates and system maintenance alerts. These emails need to reach all customers regardless of their marketing preferences since they’re required for legal compliance.
We already use SendGrid for regular transactional stuff like password resets and order confirmations. But I want to keep these special announcements in HubSpot using their transactional email addon.
The problem is HubSpot requires a dedicated IP for this service. From everything I know about email deliverability, dedicated IPs need proper warming before they work well. But HubSpot support keeps telling me warming isn’t needed for their transactional service. They won’t explain why though.
Since we only send these notifications maybe once every few months, I’m worried about two things. First, can we actually start sending right away after purchasing the addon? Second, if the IP sits unused for months between sends, won’t it lose its reputation and need warming again?
The monthly cost is pretty steep so I want to understand this completely before committing. Has anyone dealt with HubSpot’s transactional emails for similar use cases? What was your experience with IP warming requirements?
