Should we keep our WordPress site or switch platforms?

Hey everyone,

Our company’s website is pretty old now. It’s been running on WordPress with Thrive Architect for ages. We’re thinking about giving it a makeover, but we’re not sure which way to go.

We’ve got two options:

  1. Stick with WordPress but use Elementor Pro instead
  2. Ditch WordPress and try something totally new like Webflow or Framer

Our site’s been around for 15 years. We’ve got a blog, forms, and good SEO. But we want to make it look fresh with videos, cool animations, and stuff like that.

What do you guys think? Has anyone here done something similar? Would love to hear your experiences!

Thanks for any advice you can give!

Having worked with both WordPress and alternative platforms, I lean towards upgrading your current WordPress setup, moving from Thrive Architect to Elementor Pro. This option minimizes the learning curve because your team is already familiar with the system. The SEO rankings you’ve built over the years are less likely to suffer with a platform upgrade versus a full switch. Additionally, Elementor Pro provides enhanced design flexibility—supporting video integration and animations—while allowing you to retain many existing functionalities.

If a complete rebranding is desired and you have the necessary resources, exploring platforms like Webflow could be worthwhile, but it comes with a steeper technical learning curve and potentially higher costs.

I’ve been through a similar dilemma with my own business website. We ultimately decided to stick with WordPress but upgraded to Elementor Pro, and I can’t tell you how glad I am we made that choice.

The transition was smooth, and we didn’t lose any of our hard-earned SEO juice. Elementor Pro gave us the fresh look we wanted with plenty of modern features like video backgrounds and animations. Plus, our content team didn’t have to learn a whole new system.

That said, if you’re after a complete overhaul and have the budget for it, Webflow can produce some stunning results. But be prepared for a steeper learning curve and potentially higher costs in the long run.

In your shoes, I’d seriously consider the WordPress + Elementor Pro route. It’s a solid middle ground between a fresh look and maintaining what’s working well for you already.

hey guys, i switched from wordpress to webflow last year and it was a game changer! the design possibilities are insane, but heads up - it took some time to figure out. if you’re not in a rush and wanna try something fresh, go for it. just be ready for a learning curve and maybe some seo hiccups at first
