Social Media Traffic Performance vs Direct Traffic in Analytics

Hey everyone, I’ve been analyzing our website analytics data lately and found something interesting. When I compare visitors from social platforms to those coming from direct visits and referrals, there’s a clear difference in how they behave on our site.

The social media visitors seem to have shorter session times and higher exit rates compared to people who visit us directly or through referral links. This pattern shows up across different page types we’ve checked.

I’m wondering if this is normal behavior for social media users or if there might be technical issues like slow page loading or mobile experience problems affecting these visitors.

Has anyone else noticed similar patterns in their analytics? I’d appreciate hearing about your experiences with different traffic source performance.

totally agree! social traffic rarely stays long, they’re just browsing for quick stuff. direct visitors tend to be more engaged. so don’t worry too much! maybe try some eye-catching content or offers to draw those social peeps in more.
