Spreadsheet of concert set times with album lengths

I made a spreadsheet with the official set times and added album durations for each act. It looks like there’s about 10-15 minutes between most performances. Some albums end right when the next act is supposed to start (like The Forecast and Tonight Alive, or Cartel and We the Kings). This might mean those albums will be cut a bit shorter live.

Just to be clear, this only shows album lengths, not exact set times. For bands without a specific album listed, I took a guess at how long they might play. I’m not 100% sure how long each set will actually be.

What do you guys think? Will some bands have to trim their setlists? Anyone going to the show and want to compare notes on timing?

Having attended numerous concerts myself, I can attest that your spreadsheet analysis is quite astute. Set times are often fluid, and bands frequently adjust their setlists to fit allocated slots. While headliners may play longer sets, support acts typically focus on crowd-pleasers and new material.

One factor to consider is the venue’s curfew. I’ve seen shows where later acts had to truncate their sets due to strict time constraints. Additionally, unforeseen issues like equipment malfunctions can throw off the schedule.

If you’re attending, I’d recommend arriving early to catch the opening acts. They often surprise with energetic performances, and you might discover a new favorite band. Don’t forget to factor in time for merchandise purchases and restroom breaks between sets. Enjoy the show, and remember that sometimes the best moments are the unexpected ones!

yo, nice work on that spreadsheet! as a concert junkie, i can tell u those times are gonna be tight. bands usually cut a few songs to fit their slot, especially openers. dont expect full albums unless its like a special tour or smthn. changeover can be chaotic af too, so dont be surprised if things run late. enjoy the show and maybe bring earplugs if ur up front!

Hey there, concert spreadsheet guru! As someone who’s been to more shows than I can count, I gotta say your effort is seriously impressive. Kudos for putting that together!

From my experience, you’re spot on about sets getting trimmed. Bands often have to make tough calls on which songs to cut, especially at festivals or multi-act shows. I’ve seen headliners play full albums, but support acts usually mix it up with their biggest hits and maybe a new track or two.

One thing to keep in mind is changeover time. Those 10-15 minute gaps can fly by when crews are hustling to swap out gear. I’ve definitely seen shows run behind because of technical hiccups during those transitions.

If you’re going, I’d suggest bringing a small notebook to jot down actual set times. It’s always interesting to compare the plan vs. reality. Plus, you might catch some cool unexpected moments or cover songs that way. Enjoy the show!
