Sync Notion with Apple's Calendar and Reminders: Automation Tips?

Hey everyone! I’m trying to streamline my productivity setup and was wondering if anyone has advice on automating Notion with Apple Calendar and Reminders. I’ve been using these tools separately, but it’s becoming a hassle to keep everything in sync.

Does anyone have experience setting up an automated workflow between these platforms? I’m particularly interested in:

  1. Getting Notion tasks to show up in Apple Reminders
  2. Having Notion events appear in my Apple Calendar
  3. Maybe even syncing completed tasks back to Notion

I’m not super tech-savvy, so any straightforward tips or app recommendations would be amazing. Thanks in advance for your help!

As someone who’s been in your shoes, I can totally relate to the struggle of keeping everything in sync. I actually stumbled upon a solution that’s been working wonders for me: IFTTT (If This Then That). It’s a godsend for connecting Notion with Apple’s ecosystem.

Setting it up was surprisingly straightforward. I created applets to push my Notion tasks into Apple Reminders and sync my Notion events with Apple Calendar. The best part? It’s mostly automatic once you’ve got it configured.

One thing to keep in mind though - the sync isn’t always instantaneous. Sometimes there’s a slight delay, but it’s rarely more than a few minutes. Also, while it handles the Notion to Apple sync well, getting completed tasks back into Notion can be a bit trickier. I ended up using a combination of IFTTT and Shortcuts for that part.

It took some trial and error, but now my workflow is smooth as butter. Definitely give IFTTT a shot if you haven’t already!

I’ve found success using Automate.io for syncing Notion with Apple’s ecosystem. It offers a user-friendly interface and robust integration options. While it may require a bit of initial setup, the time saved in the long run is substantial. One key feature I appreciate is the ability to create bidirectional syncs, ensuring changes in either platform are reflected in the other. This has been particularly useful for keeping my task lists and calendar events consistent across both Notion and Apple’s native apps. Just be mindful of potential sync delays, which can occasionally occur with third-party automation tools.

hey mike, have u tried zapier? it’s pretty good for connecting different apps. i use it to sync my notion tasks with apple reminders. it’s not perfect but gets the job done. there’s also integromat which some ppl swear by. might be worth checking out those options
