This is exactly why I stopped using Twitch streaming (SGDQ2025 experience)

I was trying to watch the speedrunning event today and got hit with 10 consecutive advertisements right in a row. This is getting completely out of hand now. The ad frequency has become so annoying that I can’t even enjoy the content anymore. I think I’m just going to skip the live streams entirely and wait for the recorded versions to be uploaded instead. Has anyone else noticed how much worse the advertising situation has gotten on this platform? It feels like they’re prioritizing ad revenue over viewer experience at this point. I used to love watching these events live but now it’s just frustrating.

Twitch’s ads are awful during live events when timing actually matters. I’ve had ads kill marathon streams right at clutch moments - stuff you can’t rewind or see again. They always pop up at the worst possible times, like right when something hype is happening. What really gets me is Twitch Prime subscribers still get hit with ads even though we’re paying for it. I’ve moved to other ways to watch these events, though I feel bad for streamers losing live viewers. They need to fix this balance because they’re basically teaching people to skip live content.

i totally get it, 10 ads is just too much! it really ruins the vibe when you’re trying to enjoy the runs. i’ve also considered using ad blockers, but it’s a bummer for the streamers. hopefully twitch realizes this is driving folks away!

The ads have significantly impacted my Twitch experience as well. I’m often caught off guard by them, especially during critical moments in streams. Recently, I missed a major turn in a gaming tournament due to an extended ad break, which felt very frustrating. While other platforms may not have the same content variety, their ad strategies seem to respect viewer engagement more. It’s ironic because these excessive ads might drive users to use ad blockers or abandon the platform altogether, ultimately hurting both creators and advertisers.
