Trouble automating Openphone call recordings with Zapier for CRM integration

Hey everyone, I’m in a bit of a pickle here. I’m trying to set up an automation for our cold calling process using Openphone. The goal is to automatically take call notes and add them to the contact’s profile in our CRM.

The problem is, I can’t seem to get the Openphone trigger working properly in Zapier. I’ve only been able to test with example recording URLs, not the actual Openphone process. This has led to some major issues.

I’ve been tinkering with it so much that I think I might have broken our CRM. I’m worried this might be my last chance to fix it before things go south.

Has anyone dealt with a similar setup? Any tips on how to properly test the Openphone-Zapier integration without risking further damage to our CRM? I’m really in a tight spot here and could use some expert advice. Thanks in advance!

I’ve been down this road before, and it can definitely be frustrating. One thing that really helped me was creating a separate test account in Openphone specifically for Zapier integration. This way, you can make test calls and trigger events without messing with your actual business data.

For the CRM issue, consider taking a full backup before making any more changes. If things have already gone sideways, you might want to restore from a previous backup and start fresh.

In my experience, the key to getting the Openphone trigger working was to ensure I had the correct permissions set up on both ends. Double-check that your Openphone account has API access enabled and that you’re using the right API key in Zapier.

If all else fails, don’t hesitate to hop on a call with Zapier’s support team. They’ve bailed me out of similar situations before and can often spot issues that we might overlook.

I’ve faced similar challenges integrating Openphone with our CRM via Zapier. One approach that worked for me was setting up a sandbox environment for testing. This allows you to experiment without risking your production CRM data.

For the Openphone trigger, ensure you’re using the latest version of their Zapier integration. Sometimes older versions can be buggy. Also, double-check your API credentials and webhook settings in Openphone.

If you’re still struggling, consider reaching out to Openphone’s support team. They were surprisingly helpful when I hit a roadblock with call recording triggers.

Lastly, document each step of your integration process. This will help you backtrack if needed and provide valuable info if you need to escalate to technical support.

hey man, been there done that. what helped me was using a dummy CRM account for testing. also, make sure ur using the latest openphone app version. sometimes older ones mess up with zaps.

if ur still stuck, hit up openphone support. they’re pretty cool about helping out. good luck fixing it up!
