Help needed! I’m having issues with the RapidAPI / PAW app on my M1 Mac after updating to Monterey 12.6.2.
I recently updated my M1 Mac to the latest macOS version, and now the RapidAPI app won’t start at all. It’s frustrating because I use it for work. I’ve tried the usual stuff like restarting and reinstalling, but no luck.
The weird thing is, it works fine on my coworker’s computer running Monterey 12.6.1. So I’m thinking it might be something specific to this new update.
Has anyone else run into this problem? Any ideas on how to fix it or at least figure out what’s going wrong? I’m not super tech-savvy, so step-by-step instructions would be really helpful.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
I’ve encountered similar issues with other apps after updating macOS. Have you tried checking for a newer version of RapidAPI specifically for Apple Silicon Macs? Sometimes developers release separate builds optimized for M1 chips.
Another thing to consider is potential conflicts with other software. Try temporarily disabling any antivirus or system optimization tools you might have running, then attempt to launch RapidAPI again.
If those don’t work, you could try creating a new user account on your Mac and see if RapidAPI launches there. This can help isolate whether it’s a system-wide issue or specific to your user profile.
Lastly, if nothing else works, you might want to reach out to RapidAPI’s support team directly. They might have insights into compatibility issues with the latest Monterey update.
hey man, i had the same issue on my m1. try this: go to system preferences > security & privacy, then look for rapidapi in the list. make sure it’s allowed to run. if that doesn’t work, try resetting nvram (google it, it’s easy). those fixed it for me. good luck!
I’ve been through a similar headache with RapidAPI on my M1 Mac after updating. What finally worked for me was using an app cleaner to completely remove all traces of RapidAPI, then doing a fresh install. It’s a bit more thorough than just dragging it to the trash.
Another thing to check is your security settings. Sometimes updates can mess with app permissions. Go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy and make sure RapidAPI has the necessary permissions to run.
If those don’t work, you might want to try resetting NVRAM. It sounds techy, but it’s pretty simple. Shut down your Mac, turn it on, and immediately hold Option + Command + P + R for about 20 seconds. This can sometimes clear up weird issues after updates.
Hope one of these works for you. It’s frustrating when updates break things we rely on for work.
