Twitch is bypassing ad blockers again - any working solutions?

Ad blocker not working on Twitch anymore

Hey everyone, I’ve been using ad blockers for a while now and they worked great on Twitch until recently. Now I’m getting ads again even with my blocker enabled. This happens pretty regularly where they figure out how to get around the blockers.

I’ve tried refreshing my filter lists and even switching to different ad blocking extensions but nothing seems to work. The ads are really annoying especially during live streams when they interrupt at the worst moments.

Has anyone found a solution that actually works? I’m open to trying different browsers or extensions if needed. Really hoping someone has figured this out because watching streams with constant ad interruptions is pretty frustrating.

Thanks for any help!

I switched to Streamlink with VLC, which completely bypasses web player ads. While it requires both programs and some command line work, there are GUI wrappers that simplify the process. The quality surpasses browser streaming, and it offers a truly ad-free experience as it pulls the direct video stream. It takes about ten minutes to set up and works reliably, unlike many browser extensions that frequently fail. The only downside is the loss of chat integration, but the ad-free experience compensates for that.

ugh, totally get it! twitch is relentless with those updates. uBlock Origin with that “Twitch Adblock” script helpd me too. also, don’t forget to clear ur browser cache, it might do the trick. good luck!

It’s a constant cat-and-mouse game between Twitch and ad blocker devs. Switching DNS to Cloudflare or OpenDNS sometimes works temporarily. I’ve also had luck using a VPN with European servers - Twitch shows way fewer ads in some regions. Your connection might be a bit slower, but it’s worth it for ad-free viewing. More streamers are doing sponsor segments now instead of platform ads, so subbing directly to creators is another option if you want to skip the whole ad blocker mess.

yeah, i tried Firefox with Turbo Ad Blocker too - it worked like charm for a bit. another tip is to turn off hardware accel in the settings. it sounds odd but my mate found that helped when other stuff didn’t. these fixes are just temporary tho, twitch is sneaky!
