USCIS Application Status Tracker

Last update: March 7, 2025

Hey everyone! I’m tracking my USCIS applications and thought I’d share my timeline. Maybe it’ll help others get an idea of the process.

Here’s what’s happened so far:

I-765 (Work Permit):

  • Jan 29: Application received
  • Feb 13: Biometrics done, got two ‘reviewing’ emails
  • Feb 15 & Mar 5: More updates (no details)

I-130 (Family Petition):

  • Jan 29: Application received
  • Feb 12, 20 & Mar 5: Updates (no changes)

I-485 (Green Card):

  • Jan 29: Application received
  • Feb 12: Imaging done
  • Feb 13, 20 & Mar 5: More updates

Quick Tips:

  1. Use ‘Case Tracker’ or ‘Lawfully’ apps
  2. Get your Online Access Code from USCIS website or live chat
  3. Download case docs from your USCIS account
  4. You can reschedule biometrics if needed
  5. New appointment info shows up within 24 hours

Has anyone else noticed similar patterns? Let me know if you have questions!

I’ve been through a similar process recently, and I can relate to the anxiety of waiting for updates. From my experience, I noticed that USCIS often bundles updates for different applications together. This might explain why you’re seeing multiple updates on the same dates across your applications.

One thing that really helped me was setting up USCIS SMS alerts. It saved me from constantly checking the website or app. Just be aware that sometimes the texts can be a bit delayed compared to the online updates.

Also, don’t be alarmed if you see periods of no activity. My I-485 had a gap of nearly two months between updates, which I later learned is quite normal. The processing times can vary widely depending on your service center and current workload.

Lastly, if you haven’t already, consider adding your attorney to your USCIS online account. They can often provide valuable insights into what certain updates might mean for your specific case.

Having gone through the USCIS process myself, I can attest to its complexity. One crucial aspect often overlooked is maintaining a comprehensive file of all correspondence and receipts. This proved invaluable when I needed to quickly reference specific dates or document numbers during inquiries.

Another tip: pay attention to the processing times posted on the USCIS website for your specific form and service center. These can fluctuate, sometimes dramatically, affecting overall timelines.

If you’re nearing the posted processing time without an update, consider submitting a case inquiry. In my experience, this occasionally expedited the process or at least provided some clarity on the status.

Lastly, joining online forums or local immigrant support groups can offer invaluable peer support and up-to-date information on processing trends.

hey pete, thx for sharing ur timeline! ive been thru this too and its a rollercoaster. one thing that helped me was calling the USCIS contact center when i hadnt heard anything in a while. sometimes they can give u more info than whats online. also, dont freak out if ur case seems slow - mine took forever but eventually came thru. hang in there!
