Volunteer-run Real-time Translation Sheet for Upcoming Second Birthday Broadcast

Hello everyone,

Since we don’t have an official translation for recent broadcasts, I’m planning to do a live translation of the Second Birthday Broadcast. It’s like what I did for the July stream.

The broadcast is set for Wednesday, February 26th at 6 PM KST.

Just a heads up: even though I’m good with both languages, mistakes can happen. Sometimes things get lost in translation. So please double-check any info before you react to it. Hopefully, we’ll have other sources to compare with too.

I’ve set up a document for the translation. You can find it by searching for ‘Second Birthday Broadcast Live Translation’ online.

If the mods here have different plans or don’t want this, I understand if they need to take it down.

Let me know if you have any questions!

As someone who’s been part of fan translation efforts before, I can say it’s a real challenge, but so rewarding. Isaac, you’re doing the community a huge service here. One thing that’s helped me in the past is having a second screen or device set up just for the translation doc. Makes it way easier to keep up with the stream and type at the same time.

Also, don’t be too hard on yourself if you miss bits here and there. Live translation is tough, and most folks understand that. Maybe consider adding a note at the top of the doc explaining it’s a rough translation, just to set expectations.

Thanks again for taking this on. It’s fans like you that really make this community special.

thats awesome isaac! i always appreciate when fans step up to help out. ill def be checking ur translation sheet during the stream. quick question tho - will u be doing both korean to english and english to korean? or just one way? either way thanks for doing this!

I commend your initiative, Isaac. Community-driven efforts like this are invaluable for international fans. Having participated in similar projects, I can attest to the challenges of real-time translation. A suggestion: consider recruiting a small team to assist, if possible. This can help distribute the workload and potentially catch any mistranslations. Additionally, it might be worthwhile to create a glossary of common terms or phrases specific to the game beforehand. This can expedite the translation process during the broadcast. Your dedication to the community is truly appreciated.
