What are the newest alternatives to Google Drive that aren't Nextcloud?

I’m looking for fresh cloud storage solutions that have emerged lately. I gave Nextcloud a shot but found it incredibly sluggish and frustrating to work with. Syncthing didn’t really impress me either - it was just okay but nothing special. Are there any newer platforms or services that have launched recently that might be worth checking out? I’m hoping to find something that performs better than what I’ve tried so far. Maybe something that’s gained popularity in the past year or two that I haven’t heard about yet. Any recommendations would be really helpful since I’m getting tired of the current options available.

Switched to Proton Drive six months ago - it’s been rock solid. Way better performance than my self-hosted setup, and they keep adding new features. If you’re already using their other stuff, everything works together perfectly. Also check out Icedrive - newer service but has cool features like client-side encryption and virtual drive mounting. Interface feels way more modern than the old alternatives. Both are actively developed, which matters after I got burned by dead projects before.

Been testing Filen for months now and it’s way better than I expected. Zero-knowledge encryption comes standard and sync speeds stay fast even with big files. Interface is clean but not dumbed down like other options. pCloud’s another solid choice - not new but they’ve really stepped up their game lately. Their crypto folder works great if you care about privacy. What sold me on both? They’re reliable. Too many promising services have crashed on me with sync failures or random downtime. These two just work.

mega’s solid now despite their sketchy past. sync’s quick and you get 20gb free - way better than most others. haven’t used tresorit myself but ppl say it’s enterprise-level quality. both crush google drive when it comes to big files.
