I’m curious about that Telegram bot that used to help with car plate lookups. Does anyone know who created it? I was using it pretty often, but now it seems to have disappeared.
Any idea why it got taken down? Was there some issue with it, or did the developer just decide to stop running it?

i heard they took it down due to data issues. it’s a real shame, cos nothing beats that bot. dem alternates don’t measure up. hope you find somethin else that fits your needs!
I’ve been wondering about that bot too. From what I understand, there were concerns about data privacy and potential misuse of vehicle information. While it was undoubtedly convenient, these issues likely led to its discontinuation. Unfortunately, I’m not aware of any comparable alternatives at the moment. Perhaps this presents an opportunity for developers to create a more secure and compliant solution. In the meantime, we might need to rely on official channels for vehicle-related queries, even if they’re less convenient.
I actually had a chat with the developer a while back. Turns out, they were running into some legal grey areas with accessing and distributing vehicle data. Apparently, there were concerns about potential misuse for stalking or other nefarious purposes.
The developer mentioned they were working on a new version that would comply with data protection laws, but it’s been radio silence since then. It’s a shame because that bot was incredibly useful for quick checks.
In the meantime, I’ve been using the official government website for plate lookups. It’s not as convenient, but at least it’s above board. Hopefully, someone will come up with a legally sound alternative soon. The demand is definitely there.
