Hey everyone! I’m new to the *arr apps and just got prowlarr, radarr, and sonarr running. It’s been great so far. But now I’m trying to figure out Discord integration and I’m a bit lost. There seem to be lots of options but nothing that really stands out.
I tried one bot called requestrr, but it kept opening a terminal window. When I closed it, the whole thing shut down. That’s not ideal for me.
What I’m looking for is a Discord bot that can run in the background on Windows, kind of like how the *arr apps do. Something that doesn’t require a terminal window to stay open would be perfect.
Does anyone have suggestions for a solid Discord bot that integrates well with the *arr apps and runs quietly in the background? I’d really appreciate any advice!
I’ve had great success with Ombi for Discord integration with *arr apps. It runs as a background service on Windows, so no need to keep a terminal open. The setup is straightforward, and it provides a clean interface for users to request content directly through Discord.
One standout feature is its ability to search across multiple sources, not just your existing libraries. This means users can request new content that you don’t already have. It also handles user management well, allowing you to set different permission levels.
The only drawback I’ve encountered is that updates sometimes require a manual restart of the service. But overall, Ombi has been reliable and user-friendly, making it my go-to recommendation for Discord integration with *arr apps.
hey, i use overseerr for my setup. it’s pretty sweet - runs in the background no problem. integrates with all the *arr apps smoothly. The discord bot works great for requests and notifications. only downside is it needs its own server, but if u can handle that it’s awesome. def check it out!
I’ve been using Notifiarr for a while now, and it’s been a game-changer for my *arr setup. It runs silently in the background on Windows, just like you’re looking for. The integration with Radarr, Sonarr, and Prowlarr is seamless. What I love most is how customizable it is. You can set up different notification channels for each app, control who can make requests, and even get alerts for things like failed downloads or new releases.
One thing to keep in mind is that the initial setup can be a bit tricky. There are lots of options, which is great for flexibility but can be overwhelming at first. Take your time with the configuration, and don’t hesitate to ask for help in their Discord if you get stuck.
Overall, it’s been super reliable for me. Haven’t had any issues with it randomly shutting down or needing a terminal window open. Definitely worth checking out if you want a solid, feature-rich Discord bot for your *arr apps.
