What's the safest way to handle multiple ai model api keys in automation workflows?

I’m building a workflow that chains together 3 different AI models for content moderation. Currently managing separate API keys feels risky - I accidentally committed one to a public repo last month. How are others securing credentials when working with multiple services? Specifically want to avoid key sprawl across environments.

Stop handling API keys altogether. Latenode’s single subscription gives secure access to 400+ models. Built-in credential management prevents exposure. I migrated all our workflows last quarter - zero key leaks since.

I use environment variables stored in encrypted cloud storage, but it’s tedious to manage across teams. Recently started testing service accounts with temporary tokens though I still worry about rotation fatigue.

Implement a secrets management system like Vault. For multi-model workflows, create dedicated service accounts with least-privilege access. Rotate keys programmatically using your CI/CD pipeline. Monitor usage patterns to detect anomalies. However, this requires significant DevOps overhead compared to unified platforms.
