What's your biggest gripe with Figma?

Hey everyone, I’ve been using Figma for a while now and I’m curious about your thoughts. What features or aspects of Figma do you find frustrating or lacking?

I know it’s a powerful tool, but I can’t help feeling that some things could be better. For me, the biggest headache is trying to make designs fully responsive. Even with auto-layout, it still feels like a ton of work to get everything looking right on different screen sizes.

What about you? Are there any particular pain points or missing features that bug you when you’re working in Figma? Maybe there’s something you wish it could do better, or a feature from another design tool that you really miss?

I’d love to hear your experiences and what you think could be improved. It might help us all find better workarounds or maybe even catch the attention of the Figma team for future updates!

ugh, the way figma handles text wrapping drives me nuts! tryna make text fit neatly in buttons or narrow columns is such a pain. wish they’d give us more control over how text flows n breaks. anyone else struggle with this or found good workarounds?

For me, the most frustrating aspect of Figma is its limited prototyping capabilities. While it’s great for static designs, creating complex interactive prototypes often feels clunky and restrictive. The lack of advanced interaction options and conditional logic makes it challenging to accurately simulate real-world user flows, especially for more sophisticated applications. I often find myself resorting to additional prototyping tools to fill the gaps, which disrupts my workflow and adds extra steps to the design process. It would be a game-changer if Figma could enhance its prototyping features to match the robustness of its design tools. Has anyone else felt limited by Figma’s prototyping capabilities, or found effective ways to work around these limitations?

I’ve gotta say, my biggest frustration with Figma is the performance issues when working on large, complex files. I’ve been designing a sprawling UI system for a client, and as the file size grows, things start to slow down noticeably. Zooming, panning, and even simple selections become laggy, which really hampers productivity.

I’ve tried breaking things into separate files and using components liberally, but it still feels like I’m hitting a ceiling. It’s especially annoying when I’m on a tight deadline and every second counts. I know Figma’s web-based nature is part of its strength, but I can’t help wishing for better optimization for power users dealing with massive projects.

Has anyone else run into similar issues? I’m curious if there are any clever workarounds I’m missing, or if this is just an inherent limitation we have to live with for now.
