What's your experience switching from Spotify to YouTube Music

I’m considering switching from Spotify to YouTube Music and I’m curious about people’s experiences with this change. Was it straightforward to transfer your playlists? How does music discovery stack up on both platforms? I’m especially interested in the differences in sound quality and whether you found the YouTube Music interface user-friendly after using Spotify for a while. I’m also keen to know if you missed any features from Spotify or if you found any new, valuable features in YouTube Music that made the switch worthwhile. It would be great to hear about both the positive and negative aspects of your migration journey.

Switched 6 months ago and honestly, the biggest surprise was how well YouTube Music handles remixes and covers. You get tons of user-uploaded stuff that Spotify doesn’t have. Only downside - the recommendations took forever to learn what I like, while Spotify nailed it right away.

I made the switch around eight months ago, and honestly, the entire process was smoother than I anticipated. Transferring my playlists was a bit of a hassle due to some limitations of the migration tools, but it wasn’t overly complicated. What really impressed me was YouTube Music’s extensive library, which allowed me to discover a lot of obscure tracks and live performances that were absent on Spotify. The sound quality is quite comparable after adjusting a few streaming settings. Initially, the interface felt unfamiliar, but I’ve grown to prefer it now. My only major issue is with the social features, as Spotify excels in collaborative playlists and sharing what friends are listening to. However, the music discovery algorithms on YouTube Music are quite effective, particularly when it comes to finding lesser-known songs from artists I enjoy.
