I want to get the 361 Joker 1 GT SE Miro basketball shoes but need help finding the best place to order them.
I really want this specific colorway because the materials look more breathable than the regular synthetic versions. Does anyone know if SE means Special Edition or Summer Edition?
I’ve heard great things about the 361 Joker 1 GT line. They’re supposed to work well for people with wider feet and have good cushioning and grip. That’s perfect for me since I’m 44 and need something that won’t hurt my knees.
My main problem is finding them in Europe:
- Taobao option: Around $150 plus shipping, agent fees, and import duties (never used Taobao before though)
- Official 361sport.com: About €200 plus shipping and taxes
- Wait option: Maybe they’ll show up on AliExpress in late 2025 like my other 361 shoes did
I’m also considering the WoW 808 Ultra 5 which has amazing cushioning for Kobe-style shoes and costs only €116-120 on AliExpress right now. Hard to justify paying almost twice as much for the Jokers.
What I currently play in:
- Book 1 Rattlesnake → outdoor courts (not in direct sun)
- Book 1 Moss Point → indoor practice when it’s cool
- 361 QP Big3 5.0 → indoor games and outdoor courts in sunny weather
- SPO 1+ → indoor games and sunny outdoor courts
What would you do in my situation?
I’ve been through similar situations with hard-to-find basketball shoes and honestly, waiting might be your best bet here. The AliExpress route worked for your other 361 shoes, so there’s precedent for that approach. Paying €200 from the official site feels excessive when you could potentially get them for much less later. Regarding SE, it typically stands for Special Edition in sneaker terminology. The materials difference you mentioned is usually what justifies the premium pricing. Considering your knee concerns at 44, I’d actually suggest trying the WoW 808 Ultra 5 first. You already have four solid pairs that cover different conditions well, so adding another expensive shoe might be overkill. The 808s have excellent reviews for joint comfort and at half the price, you could even get a backup pair if they work out. Sometimes being patient with the rare colorways pays off better than rushing into premium pricing.
Given your current setup, I would lean towards getting the WoW 808 Ultra 5 instead of the Jokers. The price difference is significant and you already have a solid collection that serves you well. Since both shoes are praised for their comfort, it seems like a more practical choice to save your money for a shoe that fits your needs without overextending your budget. As for the SE, it’s likely Special Edition based on what you mentioned. Taobao can be tricky with hidden fees, so it’s a bit of a gamble, especially if you’re concerned about fit. Given your age and knee issues, prioritizing comfort without overspending would be wise.
