Which email service do you prefer for your application's transactional messages?

Hey everyone,

I’m trying to figure out the best email service for my app. Right now, I only need to send transactional emails, nothing promotional. I used to work with SendGrid and it was great, but lately it’s been a headache since Twilio took over.

Has anyone found a good alternative? What are you using for your transactional emails? I’d love to hear about your experiences with different services.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

ive been using amazon ses for transactional emails. its cheap and reliable. the setup is a bit tricky but once set up, it works fine with good deliverability. the ui isnt fancy, but if ur technical enuf, it can be a solid choice.

I’ve been using Postmark for transactional emails in my applications for the past couple of years, and I can’t recommend it enough. Their deliverability rates are excellent, and the API is straightforward to integrate. What really sets them apart is their focus on transactional emails - they don’t try to be everything to everyone.

One thing I particularly appreciate is their detailed analytics and logging. It’s been invaluable for troubleshooting and optimizing our email flows. Their support team is also top-notch; they’ve helped me resolve issues quickly on the rare occasions I’ve needed assistance.

The pricing is competitive, especially considering the quality of service. If you’re moving away from SendGrid, I think you’ll find Postmark to be a reliable and user-friendly alternative for your transactional email needs.

I’ve had great success with Mailgun for transactional emails. Their API is robust and well-documented, making integration a breeze. What stands out is their excellent deliverability rates and powerful analytics tools. They offer a generous free tier, which is perfect for startups or small projects.

One feature I particularly appreciate is their email validation service, which helps maintain a clean recipient list and improves overall deliverability. Their support team is responsive and knowledgeable, always ready to assist with any issues.

While not as specialized as some alternatives, Mailgun’s focus on developer-friendly solutions makes it a solid choice for transactional emails. It’s been reliable and scalable as our needs have grown, without the recent issues you’ve mentioned with SendGrid.
