Which email service provider would you recommend for a CRM backend integration?

Hey everyone! I need some advice on choosing an email service provider for our new CRM system. Our team is building a backend that needs to send automated emails and I’m trying to figure out which service to use. I’ve used Brevo before on personal projects and it worked well, but my project manager had issues with them previously. I’ve been looking at SendGrid and MailGun as alternatives but I’m not sure which one would be best. What I care about most is good documentation (since I need to integrate it quickly), reasonable pricing, and reliable customer support when things go wrong. Has anyone here worked with these providers or others? I’d love to hear about your experiences, especially regarding their APIs and how easy they are to implement. Any recommendations or warnings would be really helpful!

Postmark’s worth a look - their API is super clean and they’re built for transactional emails, which is perfect for CRM stuff. I’ve used them for 2 years and deliverability stays solid. Support actually gets back to you quickly, unlike other providers. Pricing’s straightforward with no hidden fees. Only catch is there’s no free tier, but you get your first 100 emails free each month.

I’ve used Amazon SES for CRM integrations for three years now. The docs are solid and the REST API is easy to work with. What hooked me was the pricing - way cheaper than SendGrid or MailGun at higher volumes. You pay $0.10 per thousand emails after the free tier, which crushes most competitors. Delivery rates are excellent since it’s running on AWS infrastructure. The only pain is the initial setup - you have to get sending approval first, which takes 24-48 hours. But once you’re in, it’s rock solid. Support is good too, especially with AWS business support. Definitely worth it if you don’t mind the extra setup time.

I’ve used both SendGrid and MailGun in production and prefer SendGrid for CRM work. Their API docs are solid with clear examples, and the webhook system tracks delivery status without issues. Pricing’s competitive too - 100 free emails daily is pretty generous. MailGun delivers well but their docs are scattered. Had trouble troubleshooting delivery issues last year because of it. SendGrid’s support got way better after Twilio bought them. They fixed a critical delivery problem in 4 hours on my paid plan. If you want other options, Amazon SES works great if you’re already on AWS, though setup’s more complicated.
