Which third-party logistics provider works best with Shopify stores?

Hey everyone! I started my online store around 12 months ago and honestly, the shipping part is driving me crazy. Right now I’m packing and sending everything myself but it takes forever and I’m getting way too many orders to handle. I really need to find a reliable third-party logistics company that can connect easily with my Shopify setup. Has anyone here used a good fulfillment service that you’d recommend? I’m looking for something that won’t break the bank but still does quality work. Any suggestions would be amazing!

Went through this same thing 18 months ago when my Shopify store hit 150 orders weekly. Ended up with FBA for main products since I was already selling on Amazon anyway. Their multi-channel fulfillment handles Shopify orders seamlessly, and shipping speeds are crazy fast with the Prime network. Setup took maybe an hour through the app. Downside? You’re stuck with Amazon packaging and fees get pricey on lightweight stuff. I use a smaller regional 3PL for seasonal products - way more personal attention. Biggest lesson: don’t put everything with one provider. Having backup fulfillment saved my ass during peak season when my main one got slammed. Test small volumes first before signing long contracts.

Been there with the shipping nightmare! Before jumping into a 3PL contract, try automating your current setup first. You might not need one yet.

You can automate about 80% of fulfillment headaches without outsourcing. I built workflows that auto-generate shipping labels, send tracking emails, update inventory, and handle returns.

Connect your Shopify store to multiple carriers, inventory tools, and customer service platforms in one flow. Order comes in, everything happens automatically.

If you need a 3PL later, the automation still works - just redirect workflows to push orders to your fulfillment partner instead. Plus you’ll have solid data on shipping costs and patterns to negotiate better rates.

Automate first. You might not need a 3PL as soon as you think, and you’ll be way better positioned to manage one if you do.

Switched to ShipBob 8 months ago - had the exact same problems you’re dealing with. Shopify integration was dead simple, maybe 30 minutes and orders just started flowing automatically. Not the cheapest option but holy crap, the time I’ve saved is insane. What hooked me was their warehouse network - customers get way faster shipping and I don’t pay extra for expedited stuff. Dashboard shows real-time inventory and exactly where your products sit in each warehouse. Watch out for storage fees during slow periods though - they pile up fast if you’re sitting on too much stock. Worth it if you’re drowning in orders already. Customer service has been solid when stuff breaks too.

Honestly, just go with FBA if you’re already overwhelmed. Yeah, the fees suck, but the integration’s bulletproof and customers expect Prime speed anyway. I tried 3 different smaller 3PLs last year - they all had issues with Shopify syncing or lost my inventory. FBA just works, even though you lose some profit margins.
