I’m curious about your go-to WordPress setup this year. What tools are you using? Are you trying anything new?
I’m talking about the whole package:
Page builders
Builder plugins
Themes
SEO stuff
Caching tools
Security plugins
E-commerce solutions
Backup options
Code helpers
And anything else you use to make sites
I’m focusing on learning a new page builder this year. It’s pretty exciting! I’ll still use some simpler options for basic sites, but I’m really diving into this new tool.
What about you? Sticking with old favorites or shaking things up? What’s your must-have plugin list look like?
Share your 2025 WordPress plans! I’d love to hear what’s working for everyone.
hey there! i’ve been loving kadence blocks lately for page building. it’s super flexible and works great with gutenberg. for SEO, i switched to all in one seo pack - it’s easier to use than yoast imho.
sucuri is my go-to for security now. it caught some weird stuff last month! for backups, i use blogvault. saved my butt when a client accidentally deleted their site lol.
still using woocommerce but thinking bout trying out bigcommerce. heard good things. oh and i’m obsessed with generatepress theme - so fast!
For my 2025 WordPress setup, I’ve found a combination that’s working quite well. Gutenberg has come a long way, and I’m using it exclusively now for page building. It’s become incredibly powerful and intuitive.
I’ve switched to Twenty Twenty-Five for most of my sites. It’s clean, fast, and surprisingly customizable. For SEO, I’m using Rank Math - it’s less resource-intensive than Yoast and offers more features in the free version.
W3 Total Cache has been my go-to for performance optimization. It’s made a noticeable difference in load times. For security, I’ve been relying on iThemes Security. It offers comprehensive protection without being overly complex.
I’m still using WooCommerce for e-commerce clients, but I’ve streamlined my plugin usage to improve site speed. BackupBuddy has been indispensable for backups and migrations.
Hosting-wise, I’ve moved to managed WordPress hosting with Bluehost. Their optimized environment has significantly improved site performance across the board.
In my 2025 WordPress setup, I’ve been relying heavily on Elementor for page building. It’s incredibly versatile and has streamlined my workflow significantly. For SEO, I’ve switched from Yoast to Rank Math - the interface is more intuitive, and I’ve seen better results.
On the security front, Wordfence has been my go-to. It’s caught several attempted intrusions, giving me peace of mind. For backups, UpdraftPlus has been a lifesaver, especially when I needed to quickly restore a client’s site after a botched update.
I’m still using WooCommerce for e-commerce, but I’ve started experimenting with Easy Digital Downloads for a niche project. It’s surprisingly powerful for digital goods.
One tool that’s become indispensable is Advanced Custom Fields. It’s revolutionized how I structure content for clients, making their lives much easier when updating their sites.
Hosting-wise, I’ve moved most of my sites to SiteGround. Their performance and support have been stellar, especially with the increased traffic we’re seeing in 2025.
