Who here considers Google Sheets essential for their work routine?

I’m wondering about everyone’s relationship with Google Sheets in their daily workflow. What field do you work in and how much do you depend on it?

I saw a similar discussion about Excel users and got curious about our community here. Do you just use Google Sheets occasionally or are you someone who absolutely needs it every day?

For me, it’s become my go-to tool for organizing my work. I use it to track projects, analyze information, and create lists that I can update on the go. The main reason I stick with Google Sheets is because I can share it with others easily and everything stays organized in rows and columns. I find it much better than working with regular documents for this kind of stuff.

What about you? How essential is Google Sheets in your daily routine?

I’ve been in project management for years, and Google Sheets has become my go-to tool. Started with basic task tracking, but now I’m running complex budgets and resource allocation through it. The version history is a game-changer - I can see exactly who changed what and when, which has saved me from so many stakeholder arguments. Love the conditional formatting for quick project status checks, plus I can drop charts straight into presentations. The mobile app is clutch when I’m on site and need to update timelines or budgets on the spot. Honestly, managing multiple projects without it would be a nightmare - way more manual work and mistakes waiting to happen.

I work in marketing analytics and Google Sheets is basically my lifeline. The real-time collaboration is a game-changer - my team’s spread across time zones and we can all update campaign data at once without those awful version control issues Excel gave us. The Google Forms integration makes survey data collection super smooth, and I can pull API data through add-ons for stuff that used to eat up hours. I’m in Sheets about 60% of my day - building dashboards, cranking out pivot tables for client reports, keeping our content calendar updated. Auto-save has saved my butt so many times when my laptop crashes mid-presentation.

Honestly can’t imagine running my freelance writng biz without it anymore. I track invoices, client deadlines, and income projections all in one place - beats juggling separate files. The sharing feature’s a lifesaver when editors need to check my article schedules.
