Why am I still paying for Spotify when I already have my favorite songs?

Hey everyone,

I’ve been thinking about my music habits lately and I’m a bit confused. A while back, I went through this phase where I downloaded all my favorite songs. I mean, I’ve got a pretty solid collection now.

But here’s the thing: I’m still subscribed to Spotify. Every month, I see that charge on my account, and I can’t help but wonder why I’m keeping it.

Don’t get me wrong, Spotify is great for discovering new music. But am I really using it enough to justify the cost? Most of the time, I just play my downloaded tracks.

Has anyone else been in this situation? Did you keep your streaming service or decide to cancel? I’d love to hear your thoughts on this. Maybe I’m missing something obvious here.

Thanks for any input!

I totally get where you’re coming from. I was in a similar spot a few years back. Here’s my take: Spotify isn’t just about having access to your favorite songs - it’s about discovery and convenience.

I kept my subscription because I realized I was still finding new artists and tracks I loved through their playlists and radio features. Plus, the ability to stream anything, anytime, without eating up my phone storage was a big plus.

That said, if you’re not actively using these features, it might not be worth it for you. Maybe try going without it for a month and see if you miss it? You can always resubscribe if you find yourself craving that easy access to new music.

Ultimately, it comes down to how you consume music and what you value most in a service. For me, the convenience and discovery aspect made it worth keeping, but your mileage may vary.
