Why did Elon Musk drop his lawsuit against OpenAI after they revealed his emails?

I’ve been reading about the legal battle between Elon Musk and OpenAI. It seems Musk had sued them but quickly decided to cancel the lawsuit right after they released some of their private email exchanges. I’m trying to figure out what led to this change. Did the email content impact Musk’s decision? Was there something in those messages that made his case weaker? I’m also interested in the events leading up to it and whether the email release was a clever tactic from OpenAI to protect themselves. Can anyone shed light on how the email release affected Musk’s choice to drop the lawsuit?

honestly think the emails made him look pretty bad tbh. like they probably showed he was more involved in openai’s direction than he wanted to admit publicly. dropping the suit right after they got released seems like damage control - maybe his lawyers told him continuing would just bring more embarassing stuff to light. smart move by openai tho
